What’s Happening in Gatehouse of Fleet?
The artist will explore the paths made through and outward from Gatehouse of Fleet — by wheel or by foot — the routes the community travels and the joy those journeys bring. Who do these paths connect, and how can more people be welcomed onto them?
There are many small groups in the town, each knitting together the community in their own way. The project will celebrate what is already there and strengthen the town’s sense of ownership of the travel hub when it arrives.
Planned Creative Outputs
- An artistic intervention and collaboration at the Night Ride event organised by Wheels of Fleet
- Creative elements such as puppets, signage or costuming, developed in collaboration with local youth groups
- An element that gathers and celebrates stories of active travel, potentially extending beyond the Night Ride event
