What’s Happening in Langholm?
The ambition is to develop a co-created media identity and youth-led content platform that showcases the talent, creativity and culture of Langholm’s young mountain bikers. This platform will highlight their riding, their lifestyle, their networks, and their role in shaping the future of active travel in the town.
The project will:
- Support young riders to express their identity through media
- Build a visible collective of young mountain bikers connected to Xcel Youth
- Strengthen their voice within ongoing community conversations about trails, pump track development and active travel infrastructure
- Contribute to broader efforts positioning Langholm as one of the most exciting places to ride in Southern Scotland
- Help legitimise and amplify community-led investment in new pump tracks, routes and adventure travel projects
Through collaborative media-making, the project aims to empower young people to define how their town is seen and how its future as an active destination is shaped.
