What’s Happening in Annan?
The project aims to create an imaginative active-travel experience that connects Annan’s past with its present-day life.
The work should:
- Create and enhance existing trails, signage and wayfinding
- Encourage wandering, dwelling and exploration
- Reveal historic, local and mythical narratives unique to Annan
- Strengthen Annan’s identity as a regional destination
- Create moments of play, imagination or sensory engagement
- Support accessibility and inclusion across routes
Creative interpretations are invited to help people see and sense Annan anew.
Planned Creative Outputs
Outputs are currently being developed through a thoughtful community co-designed process. Current plans lean towards the creation of a community-made story trail that weaves together stories of travel while helping individuals wayfind around Annan.
Further possible outputs include the development of improved signage and maps for the town centre.
