For one week, The Standard, Midsteeple Quarter becomes a place for stories to gather, take shape and take flight.
Drop in and discover talks, conversations, creative activities and encounters with the people and ideas behind Where In The Wild.
You’ll also find The Loose Goose, having lots of Goosey fun, getting ready for her migration across the region — and our creative team making something new together: The Never Ending Skein.
Inspired by the long stories of our landscape, the journeys of geese and the stories we carry with us, this growing public artwork brings textile, words and people together. Add your own story to the skein and help weave the story of this place.
The Never Ending Skein will continue its journey after the festival, being hosted at WWT Caerlaverock for the remainder of the 2026–27 goose season, and is part of a longer term cultural exchange with BokBok Books & Folklore Expedition in Bangladesh.
